Essentials collection this Saturday to make it ‘A Brighter Christmas’ in Larne

Following the fantastic success of Food Bank collection night as part of ‘A Brighter Christmas’, this Saturday’s game against Glenavon gives us the opportunity to support another local charity in the countdown to Christmas.

The three Larne Supporters Clubs behind the charity initiative are calling on the Red & White Army to bring along donations of hygiene essentials to Inver Park ahead of this Saturday’s Premiership encounter, at 3pm.

Suzi Oag, founder of Larne-based charitable organisation Equality Period, has worked with ‘A Brighter Christmas’ to identify specific areas of need this winter; and will work alongside Larne FC and the various community groups in the town to deliver your valuable donations to those experiencing difficulties.

Please, if you can, pick a few items from the following list and bring them along to our special drop off point within the main gates of the stadium ahead of kick off on Saturday:

  • Roll-on deodorants
  • Unisex shower gel
  • Shampoo and conditioner (2 in 1)
  • Liquid soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Razors
  • Shaving foam (sensitive skin)
  • Hats (adults and kids, unisex)
  • Gloves (adults and kids, unisex)
  • Water bottles

There will also be a cash collection throughout the game.

Joel Neill, Larne FC Director (Community Engagement & Supporter Liaison) said:

“The generosity and community spirit shown by the Red & White Army on Food Bank collection night was incredible, but not surprising.”

“Larne FC Supporters are passionate about their community and their town, and I know the Supporters Clubs would like to express their deep gratitude to everyone who donated, and to Larne’s various Community Groups for the support received so far during ‘A Brighter Christmas’.

“But we know can achieve so much more. Please, if you are able, bring along a few hygiene essentials to the collection point inside Inver Park ahead of kick off this Saturday.”

“Let’s make sure we take this opportunity to do all we can to help those in need after another particularly difficult year. This initiative and the response of Larne FC’s fantastic supporters is truly something to be proud of.”

‘A Brighter Christmas’ is a project by the community, for the community comprising of four special charity donation nights at Inver Park during Larne home matches in the lead-up to Christmas, each with their own unique theme.

Further details of the remaining two events will be issued in due course. Thank you for your incredible support!
