WE are delighted to announce the arrival of two players at Larne FC Women, ahead of the transfer window closing tonight.
Sasha Clare, a forward, returns to Northern Ireland after a stint in America and will link up with Donald Malomo-Paris’ side this week, while right winger Aimee Johnston has also put pen to paper. Sasha, who has had stints with Glentoran and Crusaders, is currently finishing off a Scholarship and joins from the ECCC Athletics Soccer team.
Watching on from afar Sasha has noticed the progress at Inver Park and, ahead of her return to the country, said:
“I am very excited to get started at Larne FC Women and to play my part in their first season in the Premiership.
“The team is a good mix of experience and young talent. The club are forward thinking, have great facilities, and have shown their commitment to progressing their Women’s team by bringing in Donald, a UEFA Pro coach.”
Aimee joins the club from St James Swifts, having previously played for Glentoran. She is working hard to return from injury and will continue her process of rehab at the Larne Academy of Sport as she targets a return with the Inver Women. Aimee said:
“I’m really looking forward to joining Larne this season. “Unfortunately I’m currently recovering from a back injury which is going to keep me out for a while, but once I’m back to full fitness I’ll be aiming to bring my eight years experience of playing for Glentoran Girls and last season at St James Swifts to the squad.”
Larne are next in action when they welcome Glentoran Women to Inver Park on Friday, at 7.45pm
