LARNE slipped to a derby defeat against Carrick Rangers on Friday night, going down 3-2 at Inver Park.

All of the damage was done in the first half as Stephen Baxter’s side raced into a 3-0 lead, thanks to goals from Danny Gibson, Joe Crowe and Paul Heatley.

Gary Haveron made four substitutions at the break and rallied when they got an early goal in the half, with Matty Lusty feeding fellow sub Tiarnan O’Connor to score.

The charge fizzled out however but for Dan Bent’s goal seven minutes into stoppage time to reduce the arrears.
