Cup Success for the younger Inver Reds

Jul 7, 2024 | Womens, Youth & Academy

Whilst league action hasn’t returned for the young Inver Reds, there is still plenty of cup action for the teams in the girls’ academy.

2010/11

Our 2010/11 squad competed in the JR Girls Summer Cup this past Saturday, with the team topping their group, winning all their games against the likes of Lisburn Rangers, Craigavon and Ballyoulster United.

On their way to the final, the team faced Dublin side Kilnamanagh in the semi-final in a tight 1-0 game.

Facing Linfield in the final, they went onto beat the Belfast side on penalties. Considering the newly formed squad has been only together for a few weeks it’s been great to see the squad adapt quickly and get bring some silverware home.

2013

Saturday also saw both of our 2013 Squads enter the Mid Ulster Cup.

With our first squad losing 2-0 in the semi-final, they were able to string 3 wins in the groups with some fantastic football and goals being scored.

Our other 2013 squad managed to come out victorious and win the Bowl Cup.

Michael Gilmore Cup

Earlier in June our 2010’s and 2011’s also competed in the Michael Gilmore Summer Cup. The 2010’s picked up the trophy in their final against ACFC, and the 2011’s won their trophy after a final against CSP, having won all their group games.
