We are delighted to announce the signing of teenage winger Corey Smith, from Dungannon Swifts.

The 18-year-old arrives at Inver Park, having enjoyed his breakthrough campaign at Stangmore Park where his impressive late season form helped the club to secure their Premiership status.

Corey is a Northern Ireland under-18 international and bagged his first goal for the Swifts in their 1-1 draw away to Glenavon in April.

Soon afterwards he signed a new professional contract at the club, amid links with a number of English clubs as the season drew to a close.

Larne boss Tiernan Lynch was delighted to make Corey his fourth signing of the summer window.

He said: “Corey comes to the club as an exciting young player who really began to make a name for himself last year at Dungannon.

“He’s only 18, so we have to be careful how we look after him and how we make sure he continues his development here.

“Moving into a full-time environment will be a big factor in helping that. He is hungry to keep progressing and that is key for anyone at Corey’s stage of their career.”

Corey himself is delighted to have made the move to Inver Park and can’t wait to get started at his new home.

“Full-time football really sealed the deal for me,” he said.

“With training every day you’re obviously going to improve and that’s something I really want to do.

“There’s a good bunch of lads here. Training has been tough, but I’ve already started to settle in here. I want to get as many league starts as I can this season and play my part in another successful season here.”
