WE are delighted to announce Conor McKendry has signed a new contract at the club.
The 21-year-old arrived at Inver Park in September last year following his release from Ipswich Town at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
Having come through the youth ranks at St Oliver Plunkett and Larne Youth, Conor moved to the Tractor Boys from Glenavon as a 16-year-old.
During his time at Portman Road, Conor made his way through the ranks at the club, being handed a two-year professional contract and representing Northern Ireland at under-17 level.
Last season, just as he was beginning to establish himself in the side, Conor picked up a nasty knee injury in the Irish Cup 5th round victory over Belfast Celtic.
Boss Tiernan Lynch is delighted to keep Conor on board at the club and hoping to have him back available for selection soon.
“Conor had his operation earlier in the year and has worked very hard on his rehab, so we’re hopeful he will be back playing again soon,” he said.
“We were just starting to see what he was capable of when the injury came, so the timing was really unfortunate for him.
“He is still a young player and learning all the time, so we’re glad to have him on board with us for the new season.”
