The ‘For the Town Christmas Appeal 2022’ will see Inver Red & Whites, Larne NISC and Larne Reds unite once again to help those who need it most in our community.
As we begin to look ahead to the festive season, the three Larne FC Supporters Clubs (the Inver Red & Whites SC, the Larne NISC and the Larne Reds SC) have once again united in a bid to help those who need it most in our community.
The ‘For the Town Christmas Appeal 2022’ will see donations of non-perishable food and essentials, and cash for fresh produce, taking place at three key NIFL Premiership home matches in the run up to the big day. Simply look our for our volunteers on arrival outside the 1889 Sports & Social Club.
- Larne v Crusaders, Friday 4th November
- Larne v Dungannon Swifts, 18th November
- Larne v Coleraine, 25th November
- Larne v Newry City, Saturday 10th December
There will also be drop-off sites established throughout the town for anyone who would like to contribute. These can be found at:
- Prestige Flooring & Bathrooms, Main Street
- The Larne Academy of Sport (The Cliff), Seacourt
- The 1889 Sports & Social Club, Inver Park
The sad reality is that after already weathering an unprecedented global pandemic in 2020-2021, the year 2022 will see Larne’s community spirit needed now more than ever, as a perfect storm of circumstances have led to massive increases in the cost of living- leaving ordinary working people in our town facing hardship they couldn’t have anticipated or prepared for.
Key items requested by the food bank include:
- Trifle or jelly mix
- Smash (dried mashed potato)
- Boxes of biscuits

The supporters clubs will be working alongside Larne FC staff, local partners the Larne Food Bank and Larne FC’s charitable fund ‘Brighter Futures’ to ensure the right help gets to the right people as soon as possible, through the appropriate channels.
This year’s drive follows 2021’s ‘A Brighter Christmas’ initiative which saw the generosity of supporters deliver over 720kg of food, over 920 personal hygiene items and £2826.59 in cash (which were turned into vouchers for perishable food and further essentials) make its way to those in need in the Larne area.
Please keep an eye on Larne Football Club’s social media channels in the coming days to find out when dedicated Drop-Off Sites will be open.
We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and not everyone is able to help. However, if you are, we would be extremely grateful for your support once again.
