Chairman’s update – Friday 19th April 2019

Apr 19, 2019 | Archive

TOMORROW, we welcome our friends from Harland and Wolff Welders to Inver Park for our final home game of what has been a memorable, title-winning season.

The Welders will be keen to impress their new management team of Colin McIlwaine and George O’Boyle alongside first team coach Jason Hill, as they look towards planning for next season.

I don’t know Colin personally, but in George and Jason they have two real top guys who know the game inside out, as a three I’m sure they will initially stabilise the ship before growing and kicking the Welders on.

Jason and I go back a long way and through this relationship I have got to know George, I wish all the boys well as they embark on this next chapter of their managerial journey.

We go into the game on a real high and in a rich vein of form, we hope to build on our ‘trophy day’ performance against Portadown and last week’s five goal demolition of Dundela, by closing out the season with another two victories.

The season remains very much alive, as does the battle for the top goal scorer between the ‘Magic Hat’ and the ‘White Pele’. Davy and Marty are relishing this contest and it certainly is captivating everyone around Inver Park, what price a split decision, what price an outright winner? Being strictly neutral I wish both boys well.

One thing we are guaranteed is two big performances, the team goal has been delivered, now it’s about personal and professional pride, the boys won’t let us down.

Let’s get behind the boys from the off, bring plenty of colour and bring the noise. Tomorrow is another special day, let’s make it a memorable one.

The players and management will arrive at Inver Park for 12.30pm by coach to a hero’s welcome, they will mingle, sign autographs and pose for photos with the trophy before they go to work at 1.15pm. There will be music, bouncy castles, face painting and further photo opportunities with the trophy up until 2.45pm. I urge you to get to the ground early to show your appreciation of the boys’ efforts this term.

We’ve got the weather, the entertainment and the hospitality, now all we need is you…

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you, whether it be as a sponsor, a volunteer or as a supporter home or away, your contribution this season has been immense and I look forward to us growing together next season on the next stage of our journey. As you rightly sing, ‘We’re on our way’.

Before concluding, I would like to thank our match sponsor, toalsbet.com, our match ball sponsor The Prom Cafe, The Curran Court Hotel for our pre-match nutrition, Graham’s Pizza for our post-match and Classic Drinks for sponsoring the man of the match bubbly.  Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Finally, can I wish the wider Inver Park family a happy and peaceful Easter holiday period.

Let’s make Inver LOUD and PROUD!

Regards

Gareth
