Carlisle Is New Larne Ladies Olympic Coach

Feb 9, 2019 | Archive

AFTER the very successful summer of 2018, we are delighted to announce that Larne Ladies have entered a second team for the new NIWFA League Season.

The team will be called Larne Ladies Olympic and whilst the league structure has yet to be finalised for the new season the Ladies Olympic will take part in the bottom tier in the 2019 season.

We are also very pleased to announce that our Head of Girls’ Football Development, Daniel Carlisle will take charge of the Olympic.

Carlisle, who is the son of former Inver Reds’ Assistant Manager Mark, has made a big impression since joining the club last summer, overseeing the huge growth in girls’ football.

The addition of a women’s second team adds a further step to our women’s football pathway, which compliments our very popular Girls Football Development Programme.

The women’s second team takes on a name with decades of history at the club. The ‘Olympic’ name has been synonymous with football in Larne since Larne Olympic was a club in its own right early last century through to when the Olympic and Larne Football Club merged and up to the present day where various Larne second teams have played under the Olympic name.

New players are still welcome to join the club, whether you currently play for another women’s club or not. The buzz around women’s football in the town is only going to continue to grow. Come along and be part of it.
