We are delighted to announce the appointment of Amy Burns as the club’s Head of Girls Youth Development.

Amy joins Larne with a strong background in youth development and a proven record of helping build pathways for young players in the women’s game. Across her coaching journey, she has played a key role in establishing two girls’ academies at previous clubs, bringing valuable experience in creating structures that support both player development and long-term growth.

Her coaching background also includes work within the Girls National Performance Programme, the South Belfast Youth League girls’ select team, and most recently with Glentoran Women U19s, where she continued to collaborate closely with talented young players in a competitive environment.

Amy holds a UEFA B Licence, a UEFA C Goalkeeping qualification, and is also a qualified personal trainer, giving her a broad and well-rounded understanding of player development across technical, tactical, physical, and positional areas.

Her appointment marks another positive step forward for Larne as the club continues to strengthen its pathway for young female players and invest in the future of the girls’ game at Inver Park.
Amy said:

“I am really excited to take on this role at Larne. Women’s and girls’ football is growing massively, and I am passionate about creating an environment where players can enjoy their football, develop as individuals and believe they can progress into senior football.

Building trust, honesty and strong relationships with the club, players, parents, and coaches is really important to me, as it creates the right culture for everyone to grow together.
I know success takes hard work and patience, but I am ready to give everything to help grow the Girls Academy and support the next generation coming through the club.”

Everyone at Larne FC would like to welcome Amy to the club and wish her every success in her new role.
