We are delighted to announce the signing of Scottish midfielder Scott Allan, on a season-long loan from Arbroath.
The 31-year-old playmaker makes the move across the Irish Sea after playing a number of top clubs in both England and Scotland, having kicked off his career at Dundee United.
This sparked a move south of the border in 2012 where he enjoyed a stint at West Brom, during which he had a number of loans to Football League club in England.
His career really took off when he moved back to his native Scotland, starring in midfield for Hibs. This caught the eye of Ronnie Deila’s Celtic side, when he completed a reported £3.5million to Parkhead in 2015.
He would eventually end up back at Easter Road on a permanent deal, before joining Championship side Arbroath last summer.
Boss Tiernan Lynch is looking forward to working with the former under-21 international to his squad.
“We’re delighted to bring someone of Scott’s quality to the club,” he said.
“The attributes he possesses have been there for everyone to see for more than a decade in both England and Scotland.
“He comes with great quality on the ball and really fits the bill of the type of player we have been looking to bring in.
“He’s excited to get started in what is a new challenge for him and we’re looking forward to having him as part of the group.”
Former Scotland under-21 international Allan is looking forward to getting his career at Inver Park underway.
He said: “I’m delighted to be here and I just want to get on the training park and the pitch to show everyone what I can bring to the team.
“Going to play at new stadiums is a big thing for me. It’s a new challenge for me and a new country and I’m looking forward to working with the managewr and the team.
“My strength is creating chances for other players and trying to open the door for others.”
Scott will wear the number 11 shirt this season.
