LARNE progressed into the quarter-finals of the County Antrim Shield thanks to three unanswered goals in the first half.
Ambrose Ajala scored two goals in nine minutes, while Paul O’Neill was on target shortly afterwards to make it 3-0 at half-time.
Premier Intermediate League side Queen’s continued to put up a fight in the second half and thought they had a route back into the contest on 59 minutes when on loan Linfield man Charlie Chapman intercepted a loose pass from debutant Larne goalkeeper Dylan Graham, before being brought down by the stopper.
However former Everton man Graham redeemed himself by saving Michael Withers’ spot kick to maintain his clean sheet and help record the 3-0 victory for Tiernan Lynch’s holders.
