We are delighted to announce the signing of Aimee Johnston, who returns to the club from St James’ Swifts ahead of the 2026 Sports Direct Women’s Premiership season.
The 22-year-old winger returns to Inver Park after previously signing for the club in 2023 from St. James’ Swifts, having earlier developed her career with Glentoran Women, where she spent several years progressing through their setup.
Johnston first arrived at Inver during the club’s inaugural 2023 Women’s Premiership campaign but faced with a long-term injury and eventually joined St James’ Swifts in the NIWFA Championship.
Manager Matthew Crawford welcomed the signing:
“I am pleased to welcome Aimee into our group; Aimee has shown real determination to rise to the challenge of wanting to compete at the highest level of the Women’s game.
“Aimee has displayed positive energy and a hunger to constantly take on board information and develop while settling in really well to the group.
“I look forward to working with Aimee challenging & developing her to have a positive impact individually & collectively on the team over the course of the season ahead.”
On signing for the Inver Reds, Aimee said:
“I am very happy to be back at Larne. The girls have been very welcoming and supportive. The set up and professionalism of the club is excellent, and the training is a very high standard.
“I am really looking forward to the season ahead.”
