We are delighted to announce Aaron Donnelly has sealed a new contract at the club, which will see him remain at Inver Park until at least 2025.
The left-sided defender arrived at the club from Cliftonville last summer, as part of a deal which saw Ronan Hale move in the other direction.
It was to prove to a memorable first campaign for the 23-year-old as he got his hands on the County Antrim Shield and a first Premiership title-winning medal of his career.
His personal contribution was also recognised in the club’s Gala Dinner held earlier this month, when he was voted as the Young Player of the Year.
As part of what was often a settled back three last season, alongside Cian Bolger and Shaun Want, he helped the club set a new defensive record for a 38-game Premiership campaign.
Off the back of that all three players have put pen to paper on new contracts at the club.
Boss Tiernan Lynch is delighted to see him extend his stay at the club, saying: “Aaron came to us as young player who already had a lot of football under his belt, having burst onto the scene as a teenager at Cliftonville. He has also got better and better with the benefit of full-time football.
“He is also a young man who is hungry to keep on improving and we see that with the sessions he’s prepared to do and the extra work he puts in.
“He got his rewards last season on a personal level, as well as on a team basis. We’re delighted to see him extend his stay.”
