Larne Youth 2006 Olympic team delivered the first piece of silverware to Inver Park this season, as the defeated local side Wellington Rec Youth 5-2 in the South Belfast Youth League Supplementary Cup Final at Inver Park.

Played on a crisp Saturday evening under the bright lights if Inver Park, the game attracted a bumper crowd who turned out to support a great occasion for both teams and create a fantastic atmosphere.

Larne Youth arrived at the ground early and took time in the players lounge to set their focus on the game.  And they flew out of the traps with an impressive first half performance which saw the ‘wee reds’ effectively kill the game by half time.  However, real credit must go to Wellington Rec Youth who ensured that the game certainly wasn’t finished just yet as they clawed their way in to the game in the second half.

A string of impressive performances contributed to an effective team display, however special mention must go to Ben McKeown who grabbed himself 2 goals and the impressive Reece Donnell who notched a hattrick and took home the match ball.  Special mention too to captain Harry Marshall who missed the game due to injury, however he supported and encouraged his team mates from the moment they arrived at the ground.

The squad will be guests at this Saturdays home game vs Dundela where they will parade their trophy at half time in front of the home crowd.  Everyone at the club would like to congratulate the players and coaches on their success, and we look forward to many more nights like it in the future.
